Particle Beam Radiation Therapy for
Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor

  • The indication for particle beam radiation therapy is a primary bone and soft tissue tumor diagnosed pathologically. As a general rule, the size of the tumor should be 12 cm or less.
  • The bone and soft tissue tumor needs to be solitary and localized.
  • If the tumor is located within 2 cm from the digestive tract (small and large intestines), the patient is not eligible for particle beam radiation therapy.

Criteria
cT1-2N0M0 Any 12 cm or less Lymph node and distant metastases are not acceptable. The intestine is located within 2 cm of the bone and soft tissue tumor.
